Hoo's Next: Savannah State University

Hoo’s Next: Savannah State
The Indiana Hoosiers' next opponent is the Savannah State University Tigers. SSU comes in with a 1-8 record, fresh off a loss to Western Illinois. The Tigers are only averaging 54 points per game. This is exactly the type of opponent IU needs in order to regain their confidence on defense after giving up a season high 88 points to Boston College. To help make up for their, to put it nicely, horrible offense, SSU only allows 57 points per game. That number, however, is helped by holding one opponent to 33 points and another to 41. So if you are expecting to see a high scoring, all offensive game on Saturday, look elsewhere.

The “Experts” Picks
• Jeff Sagarin: Indiana University 80.49 - Savannah State University 61.04. Predicting Hoosiers by 24 (4.22 points are added for the “home court advantage”.)
• Ken Pomeroy: Indiana University 71 - Savannah State University 50.

My Prediction: I am going to go more along the lines of Ken Pomeroy and predict a 74-52 win for the Hoosiers on Saturday. I am hoping to see Mo Creek have a UK-like game and score about 30 on the Tigers. I have been impressed by the play of the freshmen, Will Sheehey and VO. Hopefully the two young Hoosiers can continue their stellar seasons with a strong +/- game. Also think C Wat will continue his great season with his normal 20 points. What do you guys think?
