Thoughts from an alumnus: Indiana 80 Michigan 61

I am not sure if IU’s big men grew three inches each or if Coach Crean passed out a handful of hustle pills, but Indiana showed up and played from the first whistle. They out rebounded Michigan and looked like they knew what they were doing. I have been waiting to see IU play like they played tonight since the Kentucky game. There were plenty of things that I could nitpick on while thinking about the game, but I am not going to do that. Let’s enjoy this win.

First of all, I want to talk about our upperclassmen that lead the way early for us. Tom Pritchard, Jeremiah Rivers, and Verdell Jones III played like they played last year. I haven’t seen Pritchard play that hard and not foul out within the first ten minutes since he was a freshman! Rivers had been sticking to offensive players like white on rice, but he was looking for his shot and hitting it tonight. Jones had some stupid turnovers, but overall had an amazing game.

I am more excited for Indiana basketball more tonight sooner than I thought I would be after the lackluster Northwestern game. Hopefully we can come into every game with the same intensity Tom Crean brought tonight. Let’s go Hoosiers!
